Jesse Snyder is a tenor and baritone saxophone, clarinet and flute playing musician. He also plays a little drums/percussion and has a smooth baritone singing voice.

He received a 2018 Na Hoku Hanohano (Hawaiian Grammy Award) for Jazz Album of the Year with the Hawaiian swing group, Kahulanui.

As the primary horn section arranger, he showcased his baritone and tenor saxophone and clarinet  skills, along with a solo singing performance and nose flute highlights on Mele Ho’oilina, Kahulanui’s award-winning album.

Jesse’s regular gigs on the Big Island of Hawaii are:

Mondays – Kings’ Land Clubhouse Waikoloa 4:30pm to 6:30pm with Warren Kaneao and guest artists.

Wednesdays – Manta Wine Bar & Restaurant at Mauna Kea Beach Resort with Gary Washburn and guest artists, 5:00pm to 8:00pm.

Fridays – Red Water Cafe, Waimea 6:00pm to 9:00pm. Red Water Trio or duo.

Saturdays – Manta Wine Bar & Restaurant at Mauna Kea Beach Resort  6:00pm to 9:00pm with Gary Washburn and guest artists sitting in.

Kahulanui is: Originator Rodgers Lena Naipo on lead vocals and guitar, Patrick Eskildsen on bass guitar and vocals, Robert Duke Tatom on ukulele and vocals, Tim Taylor on drums/percussion, and Dwight Tokumoto on steel guitar.

Horn section: Primary horn arranger Jesse Snyder on tenor sax and clarinet, Bill Noble on alto saxophone, Joshua Timmons on trumpet, and Jenny Brown on trombone.

Kahulanui also performs with ipu (drum gourds) and ohe hano ihu (nose flute) both traditional Hawaiian instruments.

He has performed with Sarah Bethany, Isla Tumbao, Lopaka Rootz, Gary Washburn, Warren Kaneao, the Castaways and Sax Max Hawaii.
